Best beaches in Spain? Well, there truly are lots of beaches, shores and cliffs to visit, because the coastline of Spain is nearly 5000 km long and with those numbers, this land of the sun has the 26th longest coastline in the whole world.
After that little minor detail fact, we can carry on and think about the big question.
Which are the absolute best beach holiday destinations in Spain?
It depends of course what it is the point of view and (personal attractions) what kind of beach represents “the best” for everyone.
Our own experiences about different beaches during the years in Spain are limited mostly in Costa Del Sol. And for those ones which are suitable for kids and family. In other words for easy and safe swimming and having family fun like building the sand castles and stuff.
But in general it´s easy to say and “guarantee” that there for sure is a beach for everyone.
No matter whether you are looking for nice and shallow waters for the whole family or maybe for surfing and water sports.
Or something totally different like “adults only-beach” and stuff like that.
Did you know this about the Spanish beaches marked with a blue flag?
Beaches marked with The Blue Flag are eco-friendly and work towards sustainable development. The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE) is a global and independent non-profit organisation. They grant the award to beaches and marinas improving e.g. the water quality, safety, environmental education and management.
Over the years in Spain, we have seen hundreds of beaches and multiple holiday destinations around them. Some of them were not that good, and some of them were not that bad at all.
But after thinking about this topic for a while, we wanted to make an ultimate guide about: the 12 best beach holiday destinations in Spain.
Enjoy : )
