What are the best holiday resorts in Spain? Well, it depends of course whether you are looking for top holiday destinations as a family (with toddlers), couple or just by yourself if travelling alone.
The demand for northern resorts is rising
Usually, the majority of the tourist go to Southern Spain and Costa Del Sol, but the demand is rising all the time also for the northern parts of the country.
And believe us, there is a good reason for that.
The unique nature, medieval castles and villages, wine yards and at the top of the cake the impressive and beautiful Bay of Biscay. People often forget that Spain is not the Costa Del Sol only.
That makes us think that our next visit should definitely be “a beach holiday in the north” and for example to San Sebastian where we once visited to eat and hang around for 2 hours on our way to France.
Pros & Cons – Northern or Southern Spain?
In our opinion, the best thing in Southern Spain is the weather. It´s like a clockwork, the sun is rising every morning and it rarely rains.
Con of the South is definitely the crowded streets, restaurants and beaches if you are seeking a quieter place.
The Con of Northern Spain is contrariwise the weather which is not so smooth and “accurate sunny” as in South.
The Pros of the North are absolutely nature and not so crowded surroundings everywhere near to your holiday resorts.
